BVCIS' leadership team have lived experience and formal expertise in all things disability, chronic illness and neurodiversity. As well as our formal Directors and additional volunteers, we also work with a variety of other people and organisations so we can flex our expertise to your needs.
BVetMed CertAVP MRCVS
Claire qualified as a vet from RVC in 2000 and has worked in most areas of first option work, starting in mixed practice before spending 12 years in equine practice where she gained her CertAVP (Equine Medicine). A diagnosis of ME/CFS in 2016 played a large part in her decision in 2018 to transition back to small animal practice in the role of locum.
In 2018, Claire co-founded the Veterinary Spoonholders UK Facebook group, out of which BVCIS arose and is currently a Director of BVCIS CIC.
BVM&S MSc MRCVS
Liv is currently working both as a vet in small animal charity practice, and teaching final year vet students on rotation. She also holds an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour & Welfare and has worked in a variety of clinical and non-clinical communications roles since qualifying in 2016. She likes working with effective and diverse teams, naughty torties and very good doggos.
Liv has been involved with BVCIS since the early days and has been a Director since BVCIS formed as a CIC.
